Info
I’ve been designing and building digital products for almost 20 years.
During this time I’ve worked with companies both large and small, across a wide range of sectors, including non-profit software, art, fashion, finance, recruitment, music, food and beverage, and construction.

Working as an independent designer since 2014, I help my clients clarify their communication, connect with their customers and grow online.
A few principles that guide my work, which you might like to know:
Making better software choices #
Without sounding like cliché, I’m doing what I can to create the future I want to see. A big part of that means making better software choices and educating my clients about the benefits of these decisions.
I try to avoid big tech and instead support responsible companies who prioritise the privacy and security of their customers.
I work with open source software where possible and opt for European alternatives, who have stricter regulations regarding data protection.
Making these decisions may seem trivial, but they have the power to make positive change.
Working to web standards #
I’m a big advocate for the free and open web. It’s the way the web was intended to be and it’s important for us all that it stays that way.
Open means free to contribute to and use, but also interoperable and accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, language, location, device or internet connection.
By focusing on the core web technologies – HTML, CSS and JavaScript – along with web best practices – performance, accessibility, privacy and security – the digital products I create for my clients have solid foundations and are designed to last.
Doing more with less #
Each year, internet speeds increase and web technologies evolve, making it possible to do more and more on the web. Meanwhile, the average weight of web pages is growing and websites are getting slower.
It’s well documented that slow websites perform badly, whereas lighter web pages lead to faster performance and higher conversion. Meaning it literally pays to show a little restraint.
With every project, my goal is to help my clients do more with less. By stripping away the superfluous and focusing on the essentials, it’s possible to create clear, simple, useable websites, that perform well for everyone and are great for business.
What’s more, performance and sustainability go hand in hand. So by improving page speed and increasing conversion rates, we subsequently reduce the carbon footprint of our digital products. A win win, for both business and the environment.
